Jimmy Walker currently works for PepsiCo Global Concentrate Solutions where he is the Sr. Safety Supervisor for North America. He received a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in Industrial Engineering Technology. He completed his Certified Safety Professional (CSP) in 2000.
He has 22 years of results-driven experience as an Environmental, Health and Safety professional with proven leadership ability, developing effective safety programs in demolition/construction environments, as well as in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution facilities. He is passionate about providing a work environment that helps employees work in such a way that they will go home in the same condition they came to work in.
He has also established JM Walker Consulting, which provides safety related services to small to mid-sized businesses that do not have dedicated or experienced safety personnel.
Past employers include: L’Oreal/Maybelline (manufacturing/warehouse), Raytheon Aircraft (business jet manufacturing), Safety & Ecology (DOE radiological management), LB&B Associates (DoD base operations), Viasant (demolition/decontamination), and Aviall (warehousing/distribution). He has received several awards and recognition from these companies over the years.
He belongs to two professional organizations; the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
He has completed many training certifications such as: OSHA 10 hour, LOTO, Permit-Required Confined Space, Respirator Protection, BBP, DOT, RCRA, 40hr HAZWOPER, Fall Protection, Powered Industrial Truck trainer, HCS/GHS, and an Internal Auditor for OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018.
He is active in the ASSP Southwest Chapter as a current Delegate representative, past Chair of the Awards and Honors Committee and providing local open EHS positions to the ASSP Southwest Chapter Communications group to place on the Southwest Chapter’s web site.
