Southeast Oklahoma State University held their first Student Chapter meeting for the fall semester. Darren Alexander and Tom Drake attended the event and were pleased to present the keynote speaker Sherrie Wilson, founder of EM Resources. Sherrie’s address was on Leadership and Safety Professionals, and was well received by the students.
We also had the chance to promote the Mentor/Mentee program, and several additional Mentee applications were prepared for consideration and placement with an ASSP Mentor. It is important to obtain additional Mentors now that SEOUS is having success promoting the program. If you have interest and feel you can contribute to this valuable program, please let Tom, Darren, or Dylan know so we can put you on the list. We need the names of additional Mentors by September 18, 2019 so we can adequately match you with the Mentee and coordinate the introductory dinner, which will be held at Hutchins BBQ in McKinney. The final date is being planned, and I will let the Mentors and Mentees know as soon as it is scheduled.
