Student Section Research Study

You are invited to participate in a research study of ADA accommodations in occupational safety and health training!

This study is being conducted by research committee members from the Southeastern Oklahoma State University ASSP Student Section, under the direction of Mellena Nichols, PhD, CSP Nichols, Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Safety and Health.

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the quality of Safety and Health training for those who have neurodiverse conditions, which are covered by ADA.

2022 SW ASSP Mentorship Program Kicks Off with a Bang

The SW ASSP Mentorship Program officially kicked off on Monday, September 19th.

The SW ASSP Mentorship Program partners with Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s ASSP Student Section in Durant, OK, each semester. The ASSP student section consistently places among the nation’s best and accumulates thousands of dollars in scholarships yearly. Southeastern Occupational Safety students have earned over $175,000 in national scholarships and grants in the past five years alone. Additionally, the student section hosts monthly technical meetings on the first Tuesday at 2:00 pm and monthly field trips to industrial and construction sites, provides professional development opportunities, and participates in community activities.
