Southeast Oklahoma State University Student Chapter Meeting

Southeast Oklahoma State University held their first Student Chapter meeting for the fall semester. Darren Alexander and Tom Drake attended the event and were pleased to present the keynote speaker Sherrie Wilson, founder of EM Resources. Sherrie’s address was on Leadership and Safety Professionals, and was well received by the students.
Southwest Chapter Holds Annual Officer Installation

The Southwest Chapter held its annual officer installation during an evening at the Frisco Roughrider’s Ballgame on Thursday 6/13/19. Approximately 60 people were in attendance to usher in the Chapter’s newly-elected officers. Stephanie Johnson, Region III Area Director (North), performed the ceremony. The Chapter’s new officers for 2019-2020 include: Dylan Romo (President), Darren Alexander (1st Vice President), Dusty Cotter (Treasuer), Alex Flores (Secretary), Nazeer Khaleeluddin (Past-President), Jay Gnadt (Delegate), Vance Lee (Delegate), and Jimmy Walker (Delegate).
2018 ASSP Southwest Chapter Safety Professional of the Year Award

It is the pleasure of the ASSP Southwest Chapter Awards & Honors Committee to announce that Darren Alexander been selected as the 2018 ASSP Southwest Chapter’s Safety Professional of the Year (SPY).
The announcement of the 2018 ASSP Southwest Chapter’s SPY was made during the February 2019 chapter meeting. A formal announcement will also be made at the 2019 ASSP Southwest Chapter Professional Development (PDC) Conference in April 2019.
As the recipient of this award, Darren will also be representing the ASSP Southwest Chapter as our candidate for Region Ill’s 2019 Regional SPY.
ASSP Southwest Chapter & SEOSU Mentor/Mentee Program

We are taking applications for the ASSP Southwest Chapter & SEOSU Mentor/Mentee program.
The next session will begin Fall 2019 and continue through Spring 2020. If interested, please see Mrs. Nichols so the following criteria can be reviewed and completed. We would like to have the selections made before the summer break.
There will be a kick off dinner in the fall where the first face to face meeting will take place, in addition there will be a recognition ceremony upon completion at the ASSP Southwest Chapter PDC in the spring of 2020.
